Fact: avoiding traffic ‘hot spots’ and finding alternative routes by using services such as ViewTraffic.info is a good way to try and reduce congestion. However there’s something even ViewTraffic.info can’t help you with – drivers driving 30mph on a 40mph road! Read the rest of this entry »

On August the 31st 2009 in the UK it will be a Bank Holiday Monday – which normally translates into heavy congestion on roads and motorways. Although normally the case during public holidays, the alarming thing is that what can start off as a fun break for the family can turn into heartache and loss of life. In May the RAC anticipated that during the last public holiday period in May, on average 3 motorists would be killed and a further 30 injured at the wheel, but does this need to happen? Playing the offset rule

The UK government has laid down plans to introduce a financial reward to buyers of electric or plug-in hybrid cars in a bid to do its part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The ‘bribe’ will involve the government giving out £5,000 to motorists who take up this initiative.
