Just this morning coming into work I was driving behind, what appeared to be, a newly qualified driver – they were driving the exact distance away from the kerb, and, something which unfortunately many ‘experienced’ drivers neglect, was indicating as well! I won’t mention the gender of the driver though, although I’m male (terrible!). So far so good? Well finally we moved away from the 30mph zone to the 40mph but the driver didn’t want to increase their speed. Also, it was a road where you can’t overtake so we ended up with a build up of traffic in an area where you wouldn’t have normally found one, due to a driver not utilising the speed limit.
The conclusion, whilst congestion can be reduced by finding alternative routes, drivers need to have a greater sense of road awareness to ensure everyone around them has a safe and stress-free journey. This may be something not taught in driving schools these days but is invaluable if we’re going to avoid traffic incidents and congestion problems.

I know what you’re saying.
Blimey, had the same happen to me today!
